The police in Niger State have arrested 20-year-old Lukman Aliyu for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl in Ibeto, Magama Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking on the development, the police Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed that on January 30, 2025, a report was made at Ibeto Police Outstation, under Nasko Division, that on January 29, 2025, a six-year-old girl arrived home from school with suspected bloodstains on her body.
Upon questioning, the girl explained that Lukman Aliyu had defiled her in a nearby bush as she walked home.
The police spokesperson said the suspect upon arrest confessed to the crime, while the victim was taken to Hospital for medical attention.
Speaking further, Abiodun disclosed that the police also apprehended 27-year-old Genesis Yaryok Sunday, from Ungwar-Gwari, Sabon-Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area, for kidnapping his neighbour’s six-year-old son.
The boy was found in the Jere area of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a few hours later, at around 3 pm.
Confessing to the crime, Sunday reportedly said he took the boy to Idah, on the Kaduna road, where he intended to demand a ransom of N200,000 from the boy’s mother to settle his debts.
Meanwhile, the two suspects have been taken to the Niger State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna for further investigation.
