…….. Charges Members to Work for Restoration of the Institution’s Glory
Edo state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has charged the newly inaugurated Governing Council for the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma to bring their wealth of experience to bare in restoring the lost glory of the institution as one of the best in the country.
He made the call while inaugurating the governing council which has a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Obih as Chairman.
The governor informed the council that his administration despite been few months in office has initiated a lot of intervention programs to revive AAU, including increasing the monthly subvention to the institution from 41 to 500 million naira monthly, as well as having a special intervention fund to revive the infrastructures of the school.
Governor Okpebholo noted that the members of the governing council were carefully selected based on their wealth of experience and dedication.
On his part, the Chairman, Governing Council of AAU, Chief Dan Obi praised the governor for selecting competence, irrespective of political differences, noting that the university used to be the pride of the state.
In another engagement ,Governor Okpebholo hosted the newly deployed Commissioner of Police to Edo State, CP Betty Etimeyin, where he assured the Edo state police command of all necessary assistance to rid the state of crime.
Governor Okpebholo expressed confidence in the new Commissioner of Police and charged her and the police team to make the state safe for living and business.
On her part, CP Etimeyin assured the governor that the command was well aware of the various security challenges facing the state, and its men were well prepared to tackle the challenges.
The CP thanked the governor for the support so far received and promised to keep the state safe.
