Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor, who made the announcement on Friday in Uyo, the state capital, remarked that the decision followed three months of extensive consultations with key political stakeholders across the state.
He stated that he has submitted his formal resignation from the PDP to his ward chairman, with copies also sent to the party’s state and national leadership.
Governor Eno emphasized that his decision to leave the PDP for APC was made after a series of engagements with political leaders and party stakeholders.
Eno described his defection as a response to the evolving political climate, stating that one should be able to interpret the times, flow with them, and not swim against the tide.
