The United States President-elect, Donald Trump, will hold his inauguration inside the U.S. Capitol on Monday.
The incoming US president made this known on his Truth Social media handle.
He attributed the development to possible occurrence of severe cold conditions.
Donald Trump told his supporters they could view the ceremony on screens inside the Capital One Arena.
He further stated that his presidential parade, initially set to feature marching bands and other groups proceeding down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, would now take place in Capital One Arena.
The development marks the first time in 40 years that U.S. presidential inaugural ceremonies will hold indoors.
The last time an inauguration was held indoors was in 1985, during the second swearing-in of former Republican President, Ronald Reagan.
