The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, says he would collaborate with other arms of government to achieve the vision of a Greater Lagos.
Meranda, gave the assurance on Friday while presiding over her first session as Speaker of the House.
The Lagos Speaker named Temitope Adedeji, representing Ifako/Ijaye Constituency 1, as the Majority Leader, while Richard Kasunmu, representing Ikeja Constituency 2, was appointed Deputy Majority Leader. David Setonji assumed the role of Chief Whip, with Ganiyu Sanni, representing Kosofe Constituency 1, as Deputy Chief Whip.
In her address, Meranda expressed appreciation to members of the legislative assembly for entrusting her with the leadership of the 10th Assembly, pledging to work diligently in service to the state.
Earlier, the lawmakers expressed condolence with the people of Badagry on the death of Pa Sunny Ajose, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Committee and a party leader in Badagry.
The Speaker described the late politician as a rare gem and instructed the Acting Clerk to write a condolence letter to the family of the deceased and the entire people of Badagry.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State House of Assembly has adjourned plenary to January 21, 2025, at 12 pm.
