Rescuers have searched into the night for survivors of an earthquake which occurred in a remote part of the Chinese region of Tibet.
At least 126 people were said to be killed in the incident and more than 3,000 buildings destroyed.
Another 188 people were reportedly injured after the earthquake hit the foothills of the Himalayas at around 01:00 GMT on Tuesday.
A large-scale rescue operation was launched as a result of the incident.
Though earthquakes are common in the Chinese region of Tibet, Tuesday’s occurrence was one of China’s deadliest in recent years.
The magnitude 7.1 quake, which struck at a depth of six miles, was also felt in the neighboring country of Nepal and parts of India.
