Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he removed subsidy on fuel to safeguard the future of the nation.
The president made the remark at a town hall meeting with the people of Enugu State, shortly after inaugurating some of the projects built by the state governor, Peter Mbah on Saturday.
While noting that he couldn’t allow Nigeria to go bankrupt, Tinubu emphasized that we must Nigeria to not just satisfy our immediate need, but our tomorrow as well.
“We cannot spend the future of generations yet unborn in advance. Don’t bankrupt the nation before they’re born,” he stated.
Tinubu had on May 29, 2023, during his inauguration as president announced the removal of the subsidy on petrol.
