Five men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offenses.
The police disclosed that the move is part of an investigation into a suspected plot to target a specific premises.
Four Iranian nationals – two aged 29, one aged 40 and the fourth aged 46 – were arrested in various locations around England on Saturday.
The metropolitan police described their arrest as part of a pre-planned counter-terror attack operation, noting that the nationality and age of the fifth man were still being established.
Meanwhile, the Met said officers were working to establish any potential motivation, as well as to identify whether there may be any further risk to the public.
It further stated that the affected site, which it did not name, has been made aware and was being supported by police.
It added that it could not provide further information at this time for operational reasons.
