Gunmen have killed a man identified as Mr. Stephen Kwaghtomun, 37, and abducted his 27-year-old wife in Aloshi, a town in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The incident which occured late Tuesday night around 11:30pm, sparked panic in the community and raised fresh concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the area.
An eyewitnesses disclosed that the armed assailants stormed the house and began shooting sporadically before killing the man, popularly known as “Action,” and forcefully took his wife to an undisclosed location.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.
Nansel disclosed that the remains of the victim have been deposited in an hospital in Obi, while the police have launched a manhunt to track down the perpetrators and rescue the abducted woman.
