President Donald Trump of the United States has issued an Easter week message.
In the message, Trump promised to defend the Christian faith and champion Jesus Christ’s divinity and resurrection.
In a lengthy Palm Sunday message released by the White House on Sunday, Trump called Jesus Christ the “living Son of God,” who conquered death.
The US president renewed his administration’s promise to defend the Christian faith in schools, the military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government.
“This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ — the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.
May God bless you and your family during this special time of year,” the message reads.
Last Friday, the White House hung a painting of a bloodied Trump pumping his fist in the air during the July assassination attempt on his life.
The painting of the Trump assassination attempt was displayed in the White House in place of the portrait of previous US President Barack Obama.
