2025 Mock UTME: JAMB Disburses over N397m in Transport Allowances

JAMB Conducts Mock UTME for 211,000 Candidates

The sum of N397,030,900 was disbursed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, as transport allowances to 1,909 officials participating in the conduct of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, scheduled for April 10, 2025.

The Director of Finance, Mufutau Bello, made this known at a meeting convened to evaluate the Board’s readiness for both the mock examination and the main UTME.

Bello stated that the amount released so far for transport allowances represents only the first tranche of payments, covering one-third of the total officials involved in the exercise.

While emphasizing the importance of the two examinations, the JAMB director of finance stated that the mock exercise is the first phase of the board’s core mandate, noting that they must, as always, distinguish themselves.

According to him, the nation relies on the success of the exercise, stating that any shortcomings could tarnish the integrity of the education system.

Staff members of the board pledged their full commitment to ensure the successful and hitch-free conduct of both exercises across the country.

They acknowledged public concerns over local travel allowances and clarified that such discussions often come from a limited understanding of the logistical scope involved in the nationwide examination process.
