The lawmaker representing Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Jimoh Ibrahim, has stated that the Nigerian government would deploy Artificial intelligence to solve the nation’s security challenges.
He made the assertion while referencing the allocation of ₦4.91tn to defence and security in president Tinubu’s budget proposal to the assembly.
President Tinubu had on Wednesday presented a ₦49.7tn Budget Proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly with the security and defence, infrastructure, health, and education gulping some high allocations
The President listed some of the highlights of the budget as defence and security – ₦4.91tn, infrastructure – ₦4.06tn, health – ₦2.4tn, education – ₦3.5tn, among others.
Jimoh Ibrahim, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, described the coming year as a tough one for criminals, noting that the current administration plans to develop apps to track down bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the All Progressive Congress, APC lawmaker expressed the believe that with security gulping about ₦5 trillion, the nation’s economic fortunes would be turned around.
